Fantastic Contraption is a great little mind bending engineering puzzle game. The basic concept of the game is to get a small pink shape to the goal, which is a larger pink shape somewhere else in the level. In order to move your pink shape to the goal you must construct a little machine using various parts. You have wheels that spin different ways, two types of connecting bar, one that cannot pass through other objects, and one that can. You also have a neutral wheel which is not powered, and you can connect these various parts in many different ways to create an unimaginable number of different little vehicles and contraptions. This is a great puzzle game that will really get you thinking, I found the first ten levels to be very entertaining. Sometimes the best part can be experimenting with different designs to see how they will react, I was often surprised at the results, getting results I did not expect at all. The only problem with this game is they only give you the first ten levels for free, even so these ten levels are more than worth your time. If you do really enjoy the game purchasing the rest of it will only cost you a one time $10 dollar fee, quite reasonable for such an entertaining game. This will not only open up more levels, but will also allow you to save your contraptions, send them to friends, design your own levels, and play the levels of other users, making the game basically endless. They have even started organizing contests with prizes for contraption builders, certainly worth the money for the engineer at heart. They even have an iPhone version now for the engineers who find themselves waiting in lines or on subways and want to flex the gray matter while waiting. I highly recommend this game for everyone, the first ten levels are free, and a complete joy to play.
